Director R Sukumaran, famous for his works like 'Paadamudhra' and ‘Rajashilpi', will start shooting for his new movie 'Yugapurushan' based on the life of social reformer Sreenarayanaguru, from the 21st of this month.

The movie which will feature superstars Mammootty and Mohanlal together after their immensely successful 20:20, will start canning at Ottappalam with Tamil actor 'Thalaivaasal Vijay' in the title character.

The makers have finalized upon the actor to do the role of Guru, after considering many faces including that of Mammootty who humbly requested the producers to find some lesser known person to do the role, just because of the familiarity of the face of the guru.

Mammootty will now appear as K C Kuttan, a contemporary activist of guru's period who stood by the principles and teachings of Gurudevan in his entire life. Mohanlal will be donning the character of Swamy Vivekanandha while Babu Antony will be in the role of Ayyankaali. Navya Nair will be in the female lead as an important role of Savithri Antharjanan, in the movie.

The movie expected to get completed in a budget of 5 crores will have a special track led by Jagathy Sreekumar and Salim kumar.

‘Yugupurushan’ produced by A V Anoop will get its shoot completed in three schedules, planned at Kannur, Ottappalam and nearby places.
